Q1. How many Award Categories are there?

A1. There are 3 categories. They are:

ONE

MOST INNOVATIVE USE OF INFOCOMM TECHNOLOGY (PUBLIC SECTOR)

TWO

MOST INNOVATIVE USE OF INFOCOMM TECHNOLOGY (PRIVATE SECTOR)

  • Private Sector - General
  • Private Sector – Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs)

Categories one and two both address the innovative use of Infocomm technology in public organisations and private companies respectively. They recognise organisations that have deployed Infocomm technologies and reaped significant improvements in productivity and overall competitiveness.

* Please refer to Section B for additional information.

THREE

MOST INNOVATIVE INFOCOMM PRODUCT/SERVICE

This category recognises companies that have developed innovative Infocomm products or high quality Infocomm services in Singapore. The winning product or service must have conclusively demonstrated an important contribution to improved productivity and/or profitability. The winning companies should preferably have established a regional or international market presence.

Q2. How often are the Awards given out?

A2. The Awards are offered once every two years.

Q3. What will winners stand to gain from this Award? If they win the Awards, can organisations or companies publicise their achievement? Does being nominated or winning the Awards entitle the participating company to any subsidies or support from IDA for further development and implementation?

A3. Apart from the specially sculpted trophy, Award winners will be ambassadors for Singapore in the global Infocomm arena, their names synonymous with outstanding Singapore Infocomm companies and brand names. They will also be role models who can inspire industry players to pursue the world-class benchmark they have set.

Award winners will be allowed to include the National Infocomm Awards logo in their publicity and marketing materials, subject to the organisers’ conditions.

Q4. Will past winners of the National Infocomm Awards be eligible to participate in the 2008 Awards?

A4. All companies or organisations that are registered in Singapore, either in the public or private sector, are eligible for the Awards. This is so long as they have made innovative use of Infocomm technologies or have developed innovative Infocomm products or services in Singapore.

Past winners are still eligible to participate but their nomination should be different from that of their previous winning entry.
